Weather filming guide
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
At MB Studios, outdoor filming is subject to changing weather conditions. Rain, wind, wet surfaces, and severe weather can affect filming safety, equipment, scheduling, and the overall production.
This guide explains how MB Studios handles weather-related filming conditions and what clients can expect when rain or unfavorable weather affects a scheduled production.
1. Weather & Filming Options
If rain is expected or occurs during your booking, MB Studios may offer the following options depending on the conditions:
• Continue filming during light rain or drizzle
• Wait for the rain to improve during the scheduled booking
• Reschedule to another available date
• Move to an available indoor location
Weather conditions may change throughout the day, so the final decision will be based on the actual conditions at the filming location.
2. Light Rain Filming
MB Studios may continue filming during light rain or drizzle when conditions remain safe.
The standard dance-cover filming setup may remain in place, with additional protection such as:
• Camera rain covers
• Large umbrellas positioned over cameras
• Protective coverage for exposed equipment
• Minor equipment positioning adjustments when necessary
For tripod filming, a large umbrella may be positioned over the camera and operator while maintaining the planned filming position.
If rain becomes too heavy, wind becomes unsafe, or equipment cannot be adequately protected, MB Studios may pause or stop filming.
3. Equipment Protection & Risk
All MB Studios camera and production equipment must be protected from direct rain and water exposure.
Our equipment is not waterproof or rainproof. MB Studios will take reasonable precautions to protect equipment, but water damage can still occur during outdoor filming.
If a client chooses to proceed with filming during rain and equipment is damaged due to water exposure:
• The client may be responsible for reasonable repair or replacement costs
• Potential repair or replacement responsibility may reach up to $5,000 USD per affected camera or equipment system
• The estimated combined replacement value of equipment used for a production may be up to $20,000 USD
• These amounts are not automatic fees and only apply to actual repair or replacement costs when applicable
MB Studios may stop filming at any time if continued operation creates an unacceptable equipment or safety risk.
4. Weather Delays & Rescheduling
If rain interrupts filming:
• Waiting time during the scheduled booking remains part of the reserved filming time
• Reduced filming time or fewer planned shots may occur
• Additional filming time may be available at MB Studios' standard additional-hour rate
• Rescheduling is subject to MB Studios and location availability
• Non-refundable third-party costs may remain the client's responsibility
MB Studios will make reasonable efforts to capture the planned production, but weather may prevent the session from being completed exactly as originally planned.
5. Safety & Final Production Authority
The safety of clients, dancers, crew, and equipment takes priority over continuing production.
MB Studios may pause, modify, or discontinue filming due to:
• Heavy rain
• Lightning or thunderstorms
• Strong winds
• Slippery or unsafe surfaces
• Flooding or standing water
• Unsafe equipment conditions
• Location or authority restrictions
MB Studios retains final authority over whether filming can safely continue.
By proceeding with outdoor filming during unfavorable weather, the client acknowledges that weather may affect the filming setup, available filming time, equipment use, and final production results.
6. Changes to This Guide
MB Studios may update this guide, including its procedures, pricing, or weather-related filming practices, based on:
• Changes to production operations
• Equipment or insurance requirements

• Changes to applicable regulations

Any updates will take effect upon posting to the MB Studios website.
